Gupta Empire, Chandragupta II - Archer Type, Gold Heavy Weight Dinar, Sub-Variety New, 8.25g. Obv: The king is shown in trbhangha position with the bow and arrow and is shown wearing a cholaka (an ancient warrior's uniform modiedfied from a kushan version) and short tucked dhoti. A sash whip is tied to his waist which rarely features. Chandra under left arm. Note: in this specimen the king holds two arrows instead of a single unlike usual ones. Legend: Devasrimaharajadhirajasri Chandraguptah Rev: Goddess Lakshmi is shown seated on a bloomed lotus and holds a lotus flower in her left hand and a diadem in her right hand.
