Archaic silver punch-marked coin, Middle Ganga Valley, Jais hoard type, usually attributed to Kosala Janapada (c.400-350 BC), Vimshatika standard, Rajgor series 60 but appears to be counterstruck on the reverse of an earlier issue, 4.30g. Obv: Four symbols in ABBC configuration - 1. Star of David, 2. Four lunettes around a dot, 3. and 4. Two ‘Treskelis’ symbols. Rev: Three small bankers' marks (Sun, wheel and a concentric orb) & traces of an undertype. |
