Archaic silver punch-marked coin, Tapi-Wainganga Valley region, usually attributed to 'Vidarbha/Ashmaka Janapada', ½ Karshapana, ABBC configuration, (400-350 BC), not listed in Rajgor, 1.63g. Obv: Four punches: 1x elephant facing left, 2x '3-Y' symbols with taurines, 1x three sigmoid curves within a dot-annulet circle. Rev: Traces of an undertype (crescent with dots below, and circle with ellipsoids visible). |
