AUC27 Lot No : 424

Mr. Pradeep Sohoni pursued a particular academic interest in coins of the Gaekwars of Baroda and as such put together perhaps one of the best collections of Baroda State coppers of his times. It contains many unpublished varieties, including rare fractional issues. They conform to high standards of quality and condition, which are the hallmarks of the Sohoni Collection. The coins are offered in lots which follow chronology of the Gaekwars, and the mints which produced them. Within each lot, we have ensured to keep relevant coins together so that each group is comprehensive in its own way. The collection comprises many years of focused collecting endeavor the like of which is very difficult to achieve, or indeed replicate, given how rare some of these coins have become in recent past. It is our pleasure to offer this collection in our auction.
