Samatata region, Anonymous Gold Dinar copying Gupta coin designs, 'Ashwamedha' type (c. 550-650 AD), ECB SAM5.3, 5.52g. Obv: Stylised representation of a nimbate 'archer' type king, holding bow in one hand and arrow in the other, with a crudely executed 'Shankha' standard in the backdrop and Brahmi letter Shri to the left of the head; a small figure of a horse below the hand with bow and Brahmi letters Deya/Dasa above the horse. Rev: Stylised female figure standing holding a ball-like object in her hand, and curvilinear drapes behind her back; unread legend in the right field. Estimate
