Group 6: Coins attributed to a ruler named 'Sebaka’ Coins of this ruler were first brought to light by V V Mirashi, who contended them to be a dynastic issue. For most subsequent publications therefore refer to these with collective noun as 'coins of the Sebakas', however coins listed hereunder and in further groups indicate beyond doubt that Sebaka was one king in a dynastic group shared by other rulers. Bull Type: Obv: Bull with prominent hoofs and hump walking to right, with an array of different symbols around it; triangleheaded standard behind, Swastika above its back, six-arched hill surmounted by a Swastika in front and a wavy line with fishes and turtles below; Brahmi legend Ramño Sebakasa above. Rev: A bold Nandipada, drawn with double lines with a small taurine between its prongs; a double circle topped by a Shrivatsa to its left; two small Swastikas at four cardinal points above.Obv: Bull walking to right, triangle-headed standard behind, Swastika above its back, six-arched hill surmounted by a Swastika in front; Brahmi legend Ramño Sebakasa above. Rev: A bold Nandipada, drawn with double lines with a small taurine between its prongs; a double circle topped by a Shrivatsa to its left, 7.11g. |
