Gupta Empire, Kumara Gupta (415-450 AD), Gold Dinar of 'Lion Slayer' type, Altekar Class I (lion-combatant) , Var. C, 8.17g. Obv: King, bare bodied and wearing a dhoti, standing in a frontal posture with one leg flexed upwards at the knee, striking at a lion with bow with its string pulled to ears ; Brahmi legend [Kuma]ragupto Veera?… (bhu)vi Simhavikrama along the margin. Rev: Nimbate goddess, seated in a Lalitasana posture (with one leg raised up and the other hanging down) on the back of a couchant lion, facing right. She holds a long-stemmed lotus in one hand and scatters coins with the other; Tamgha to left and Brahmi legend Sinhamahendra to right. Estimate
