Obv: King and Queen, both nimbate, standing facing each other with crescent in between; the king wears tunic and trousers and hold a crescent-topped standard, while making a gesture of adoration to the queen. The queen stands in a Tribhanga pose wearing ear, neck and
arm ornaments and an Indian costume of loose upper and lower garments. Brahmi legend Chandra Gupta on either side of the standard and Sri Kumaradevi in exergue behind the queen. Rev: Nimbate goddess seated on couchant lion, facing left, holding cornucopia and diadem or noose. A long staff is placed to her right, Brahmi legend Lichchhawayah in the right field and Tamgha to the left of her head. |
