Chandra Gupt II, Gold Dinar 8g, Archer type Class 2 Variety A: This Class of Archer coins has the most variations. It seems Chandra Gupta II - the mint masters truly were at their peak during the reign of Chandragupta II and produced truly the most beautiful work of art in these designs. obv; The king is shown in Tribhanga position with the bow and arrow wearing a dhoti. Chandra under arm. Legend: Devasrimaharajadhiraja Sri Chandraguptah rev; Goddess Lakshmi is shown seated and holds a lotus flower in her left hand and a diadem in her right hand. “On extremely rare coins the Goddess is shown showering coins from her right hand” (but not on this Coin).
