Copper
Gond rulers of Chandrapur as vassals of the Bhonsla Rajas of Nagpur, copper paisa, Chanda mint, 12.09g. Obv: Symbols like crescent and banner with putative date, Devanagari legend [Mu]lak [Chan]da Sa 12 below, partly visible. Rev: Quatrefoil design with an arabesque-like monogram in centre.
Extremely fine, Very rare.
The Gond kingdom of Chandrapur was a powerful tribal state of medieval India. The last of its rulers, Ram Sah and Nilkanth Sah, became vassals of Raghoji Bhonsla of Nagpur. In 751, Nilkanth Sah drove away Shivajipant Talkute, the Diwan appointed by the Bhonslas and took control of the administration. Raghoji sent an expedition and defeated Nilkanth Sah, nnexing his kingdom to Nagpur permanently. The coins of Chanda are very rare and it is likely that they were struck under the nominal authority of the Bhonslas.

Copper
Nizams of Hyderabad, feudatories in Marathwada region - three copper paisas in the name of 'Gopal Rao', (c.1820-1840 AD), 6.11g., 6.51g. and 5.66g. Obv: Legend Shri Gopal partly visible. Rev: Legend Rāw repeated several times in two or three lines. (3 coins)
Very fine, Rare.
The coins in the name of Gopal Rao were listed as miscellaneous Maratha issues by M&W (T46). However, in recent years it has become evident that they were struck and circulated in the region of Southern Marathwada, which was under the Nizam's control. The identity of this 'Gopal Rao' remains elusive, but his coins have three titles - 'Punahpratapi' and 'Rao' (listed by M&W) and 'Subedar' (unlisted). The first coin in this group has 'Subedar' on reverse while the other two have the word 'Rao' inscribed repetitively.

Copper
Nizams of Hyderabad - a group of nine unattributed 'Kachcha Paisa' of South Marathwada region, bearing 'Nagfani' or 'scissors' symbol copied from Maratha issues of Pune and its variations: (a) with Trisul instead of Nagfani, 5.89g; (b) Nagfani with figure of '9', 7.44g; (c) Nagfani with Trisul, 7.80g; (d) Nagfani with dot, 7.89g; (e) Nagfani with Sun, 7.99g; (f) Nagfani (plain), 8.10g; (g) Nagfani with three dots, 8.45g; (h) Nagfani (plain) with tree symbol on obverse, 8.67g; (I) Nagfani (plain) with possible mint name on reverse, 15.84g. (9 coins)
Generally very fine, Rare set.
Coins of this type were previously attributed to the Marathas, owing to the 'Nagfani' and similar symbols often encountered on Maratha coins. However, in recent times, this attribution has come under scrutiny. It is most likely a component of the 'Kachcha' currency circulating all over Berar and Marathwada regions, owing to a stimulus in demand for small copper coins to make payments to the labourers in cotton farming industry.

Rajaram II was chosen as an adoptive heir to Shahu when the latter died in 1749. Also known as 'Ram Raja', he was a weak ruler and coins in his name are exceedingly rare. Soon after his accession the ruling power of the Bhonsle house of Satara was grabbed de facto by the Peshwa, making the Chhatrapati a nominal head of the confederacy with no real authority.
