Ancient Vidarbha/Marathwada - die-struck copper coin of a hitherto unknown city state 'Bhadrapurika', (c.200-150 BC), not listed in any publication and unique so far, 3.43g. This is the first instance that a coin bearing the city-state name 'Bhadrapurika' is being offered at an auction. The precise location of Bhadrapurika is yet to be determined - however, considering that 'Bhadra' was a dynastic name it is plausible that the city had a context with the Bhadra rulers. Another city-state, perhaps with a similar context, was Bhadravati in Vidarbha.
