Very fine, Extremely rare.
The coins of this rare type are enigmatic and require further research. The legend has been unsatisfactorily read as 'Shri Juravajrana' or 'Shri Janamungara'.

The attribution of these coins is uncertain, but judging by its similarity in fabric and style to the Kakatiya coins, it is plausible to attribute the type to Maraismha II Satyavakya (963-975 AD).

Eight punches around - 4x stylized lion facing right, alternating with 4x boar facing right with sun and moon above; along the border, eight punches - 4x stylized lotus, 2x Kannada letter 'Shri' juxtaposed and combined, 1x Kannada legend Manda, 1x Kannada legend lika.
Extremely fine, Very rare.
Most likely an issue of Gunda IV (955-995AD), an early Kakatiya ruler who ruled as a feudatory of the Rashtrakutas. The title 'Mandalika’ might refer to the feudatory status of Gunda IV. The weight of the coin is 25% heavier than a normal gadyana.

Obv: In centre, a highly accomplished depiction of a four-armed goddess seated frontally under a prabha, struck from a single die. Sixteen punches around - 2x Kannada letter 'Shri’ combined, 1x Kannada legend Mandalika, 1x Kannada legend Kesari at cardinal points; 4x boar facing right, sun and moon above, flanked by two lotus punches, in each quadrant created by the cardinal punches.
Extremely fine, Extremely rare.
Most likely an issue of Gunda IV (955-995AD), an early Kakatiya ruler who ruled as a feudatory of the Rashtrakutas. The title 'Mandalika’ might refer to the feudatory status of Gunda IV. The weight of the coin is double that of a normal gadyana. The representation of the goddess in the centre is most likely that of Kakati, the patron / originator goddess of the Kakatiya dynasty.

Along the border, 13 punches - six clusters of dots (stylized lotus symbols) alternating with seven 'lion facing left' symbols.

The title 'Dayagaja Kesari' was held by many Kakatiya rulers including Prola I (c.1052-1076) but this coin is more likely to be an early issue, hence its tentative attribution to Prola. The weight of the coin is 25% heavier than a normal gadyana.
