Copper
Gulf of Khambhat (Cambay) region - copper kachcha paisa, countermarked 'GB' on a coin of Nizams of Hyderabad, struck in a private mint at Paithan, 7.98g.
Good very fine, Rare.
GB' is believed to stand for 'Gogha Bunder' or 'Government of Baroda'. The coin circulation on the Gulf of Cambay coast depended heavily on coins imported from other regions. These coins were often countermarked as they accrued new values and exchange rates when they passed from one commercial centre to another.

Jodhpur - silver rupee struck during the reign of Ram Singh, Sojat Mint, in the name of Alamgir II, complete mint name at bottom on reverse, Lingen M&J S.02.02, 11.26g.
Good very fine, Very rare.
Maharaja Ram Singh signed a treaty with Sindhias of Gwalior on 2nd February 1756 at Nagaur. By this treaty he secured for himself the half portion of the kingdom of Marwar from Maharaja Bijay Singh and allowed a Maratha Kamavisdar to station in his territory in order to collect a daily share from customs outposts. The Marathas and Ram Singh were to share the money equally. It is plausible that a mint was opened at Sojat to facilitate this joint undertaking.

Copper
Gujarat in Rebellion during Mughal period - copper dokdo, most likely struck at Junagarh, during the rule of Amin Khan Ghori, in the name of Muzaffar Shah III, AH969, unpublished in major sources and historically significant, 9.68g. Obv: Arabic legend al-Sultan Muzaffar Shah with AH date, Nagari legend Sha Ami षा अमी below. Rev: Stylized rendering of Arabic legend Shams al-Dunya wa al-Din… etc on Muzaffar Shah III's coins.
Good very fine, Extremely rare.
By the time Muzaffar III ascended the throne of Gujarat in 1561AD, the Sultanate had practically fragmented, with various nobles ruling independently in different parts. In Saurashtra, Tatar Khan Ghori had assumed control. His son Amin Khan Ghori succeeded him as an independent ruler of Saurashtra. Amin Khan remained at the helm of affairs for nearly a decade but had to relinquish power after Akbar's first conquest of Gujarat in 1573. When Muzaffar III rebelled against Akbar in 1590, Amin Khan's son Daulat Khan Ghori joined him. He fought on the side of Muzaffar III against the Mughals, at the famous battle of Bhuchar Mori in 1591, where Muzaffar was defeated and the Mughal conquest of Gujarat was complete.
The legend on this coin reads 'Khan Amin' (the letter ष was pronounced as 'Kh') and it clearly refers to Amin Khan. It is quite likely that he initiated this coinage, using the designs of Muzaffar III as a prototype, soon after he acceded his father's office. The precise date of his accession is not known, but 1565-1570 is likely. The date AH969 on the coin most likely refers to Muzaffar III's enthronement. Very rare silver Koris with the same design are also known.
