The mint at Chinchwad struck 'Furshee' (axe-marked) rupees was run by the Dev family who were hereditary incarnates of Moraya Gosawi a 17th century holy man. The RY on the coin corresponds to Shah Akam II. In a year after this coin was struck the mint at Chinchwad was moved to Pune and the RY was changed to that of the Peshwa.

About extremely fine, Extremely rare.
The mint at Rajapur was operated by the Angres as it was located close to their secondary seat, the sea fortress of Vijayadurg. The coins bear a resemblance to the Surat rupees of Muhammad Shah and are an example of 'sympathetic mimicking' to attain the same level of acceptability.
