Silver
Maratha Confederacy, silver rupee of 'Azamnagar' type, in the name of Muhammad Shah with 'ba-lutf Alah Badshah Zaman' couplet, fictitious AH date '66' on obverse and fixed RY 6 on reverse, 11.44g.
Extremely fine, Rare.
The remnants of the mint-name have been suggested to read 'Shahpeth', or 'Azamnagar Shahpur Peth'; however no such place has been identified. It is likely that it reads 'Shahnoor' or a variation thereof. 'Shahnoor' was the Islamicized name of Saonoor, a small principality in North Karnataka which was tributary to the Peshwas and ruled by Pathan Nawabs.

Silver
Maratha Confederacy, silver rupee, domains of the Kolhapur Chhatrapatis, Chikodi mint, M&W misc. and unattributed T11, 11.24g.
Very fine, Very scarce.
Rupees of this sort are referred to as 'Shambhu-Peerkhani' rupees owing to the additional mark of a Linga on reverse. Maheshwari & Wiggins, for reasons unknown have attributed these coins to the 'miscellaneous and unattributed' category. Although 'Shambu-Peerkhani’ rupees were struck at more than one mints, the attribution of this variety to Chikodi is pretty certain based on find-spot evidence. The mint was operated by a minor Desai family.
