Copper
Early Medieval Gujarat, Unattributed Copper coin, (c. 7 -8th Century AD), 1.21g. Obv: A fish within a circle. Rev: Brahmi legend Shri Wyaghra(?).
Very Fine+, Very Rare.
The reverse legend has tentatively been read as 'Wyaghra', which could be the name of a ruler from the many small dynasties that ruled in medieval Gujarat. The design of the coin is similar to issues of the Chalukyas of South Gujarat region suggesting it to be an issue from the 'Lata' region and therefore probably attributed to the Gurjaras of Bharuch.

Pandyas of Madurai, Maravarman Sundara Pandya I (1216-1238 AD), Copper Kasu, 2.28g. (Type not listed in Mitchiner: Tamilnadu-Kerala volume). Obv: A boar to right on a pedestal with bold Sun and crescent-moon above. Rev: Tamil legend Sundara above the dynastic emblem of 'crozier between two fish'.
Very Fine, Rare.
The adoption of two dynastic images on this coin - the boar of the Eastern Chalukyas and the Fishes of the Pandyas suggests the ruler was claiming legitimacy from both these houses even though the Eastern Chalukya lineage had ended almost a century before.

Yadavas of Devagiri, Ramachandra (1272-1312 AD), Gold punch-marked Gadyana, 2.82g. Five punches - 2x Kannada 'Shri', 1x 'Shankha-Chakra' device, 1x Hanuman or Garuda in a 'Veera' posture and 1x Devanagari legend Shri Rama.
Extremely Fine, Very Rare.
The attribution to Ramachandra Yadava is provisional at this stage - but it is plausible that the coin is issued by a feudatory in the name of his Yadava overlord, from a regional mint. The low weight might represent a local standard.
