This is an Issue Made during the region of Charles II. This attribution was based on a historic reference roneously dated to 1681. The date of this reference has now been corrected to 1695, making the attribution of these coins to the reign Charles II. Untenable. Charles Rupee of Bombay, Silver Rupee, In the name of Charles II and Queen Katherine of England, Minted at Bombay. Legend Sikka zad dauran... with the central letter KAWEEN KATA. Which if read correctly would mean the coin struck during the reign of Queen Katherine and King Charles. Persian “2†at the top. This is an Issue Made during the region of Charles II. This attribution was based on a historic reference roneously dated to 1681. The date of this reference has now been corrected to 1695, making the attribution of these coins to the reign Charles II. Untenable.
