The Afghanistan Medal (1878-80), Second Anglo-Afghan War, without clasp, awarded to Private Isack 4th Regiment. 34.13g. The obverse shows a veiled effigy of Queen Victoria, facing left, with VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX around the edge. The reverse shows marching and mounted soldiers with arms with an elephant carrying a cannon. In the upper-left of the medal around the edges is AFGHANISTAN and on the bottom in a straight line is 1878-79-80.

The reverse has Britannia depicted holding the Union Flag in her left hand and a laurel wreath in her right hand. Empress of India' Medal, 1877 (also known as KIH or 'Kaisar-i-Hind' medal) in Silver, 98.70g with suspender and ribbon intact. Obv: Queen Victoria, bust, wearing small crown and veiled. Obverse text: "VICTORIA 1ST JANUARY 1877". Rev: border, decorative half-diaper type pattern, 4 mm wide, around the edge of the medal enclosing the text which is in Persian, English and Hindi. Reverse text: "EMPRESS OF INDIA" (the same also in Persian Kaisar-i-Hind above and Hindi Hind ka Kaisar below). Suspender: straight bar (with central curvature). Ribbon colours: purple & yellow. Ribbon pattern: yellow/purple/yellow, with original mint cover.

The 'Empress of India Medals' in silver (some were struck in gold) were presented to selected noblemen and gentlemen, European and Indian, and to a selected soldier of each British and Indian regiment in India, on the occasion of the 'Delhi Durbar' of 1877 that marked the proclamation of Queen Victoria as the 'Empress of India'. The medal was intended to be worn around the neck via the crimson (edged with gold) riband.
