Samudra Gupta – Gold Dinar-Standard Type- Class 1 Variety E-A Legend begins on left, 7.49g. Obv: King with halo standing to left wearing coat and trousers, close fitting cap, earnings, necklace, wristlet etc., holding a standard in Left hand and offering incense with the right hand on an alter at his feet. A garuddhwaja behind right hand. Legend Samudra being under the king's left hand, Circular legend Samar-sata-vitat-vijaya - visible on the coin flan from 7 o'clock. Rev: Goddess nimbate with circular pearl-bordered ornament round the face, seated facing on throne, four legs of throne are turned with lathe, back of throne is also visible here. Goddess wearing saree, choli, earrings, necklace etc. She is holding a cornucopia in left hand and noose in her right hand. Legend Parakramah is on the right field and tamgha on the left, (Alteker-C.G.E. Pl. II 5).
